  I am a current resident of the Reserve at Hoffman Estates. I have been living here since 2 years. The apartment I am staying in is really good and I absolutely don’t have any problem with it.
  My lease is expiring in a month and I wanted to do an apartment transfer within the Reserve to move to a bigger apartment. However, when I contacted the office, I was explained about the $800 transfer fee and the $175 application fee. I did not understand why I need to pay the $800 fee as I am completing my lease in its regular duration. I prepared myself to pay the $800 fee, but then i was explained that I have to go for only a 12 month lease and no other lease term like 11,13 or 14 is allowed. This again made no sense to me. If I am paying an $800 transfer fee, then I should have the liberty to choose my lease term. In addition to this I am not even allowed to block an apartment at a specific rent 30 or 15 days prior to moving. Given these strict restrictions, I really do not understand the reason for paying $800 transfer fee.
  
  To summarize, the apartments, amenities, response to the maintenance request and everything else is really good but when it comes to dealing with the management it is extremely difficult because it seems like they do not really care if we want to stay or go. They might just be interested in new residents, while existing residents should stay where they are or they are welcome to leave the community.
